About
Me
My Name is Marissa Noon and I am a recent college graduate from North Carolina State University. I studied Textile Engineering with a minor in Industrial Engineering. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to positively impact peoples' lives. Now before you say what I know you're probably thinking, "SO CLICHE". Yeah, trust me, I know. As an 18 year old, you are so vibrant and creative and life hasn't struck you down too much. I went into college thinking I wanted to be an Industrial Engineer and bridge the gap between science and business. Unlike some engineers, I bring a vivacious spirit and incredible skills like being an excellent communicator, leadership, and empathy.
However, the world had something different for me in store. I decided to become a Textile Engineer because I have always had a passion for fashion, design, and thinking outside the box. Truth be told, it was the best decision I have ever made and I will explain why soon.
Fast forward four years and your girl graduates college! I have a job lined up working at a healthcare technology startup doing data analytics. I thought "This is it, this is where I find my purpose". Well surprise shawty! I didn't like it, not really even a little bit. I felt disconnected from everything because I was never meeting face-to-face with people and I missed that genuine connection. In six months time, my job is taken away from me giving that most startups rely on funds, and long story short we were out of money.
